During our “teechers” assessment I played the role of oggy (the school hard nut) in my first scene. Half way into the scene I came on acting all cool and walking with my arms swinging beside me. I did this to show that because he is hard he has to keep a reputation and keep being the hard kid at all times so he has to make an impression of being cool.I did this by having a sort of hunch on my back to show that I can’t be bothered to stand up straight and I think john Godber put oggy in the play to show the power changes between the 1970’s to the 1980’s were teachers were no longer able to use the Kane so the pupils started to take control and that’s why everyone is scared of oggy because he has made it clear that he is the boss with the power. Also I had to slouch to interpret that I don’t care and I swung my arms acting like I had swag meaning that I was popular and needed an action for me to stand out as being “oggy moxon”. When I approached Gail (the chavvy slut) my voice changed to a confident swagger boy who felt self-assured that he was going to pull Gail and get her into coming to his dad’s party. I used this approach because it interprets oggy as being the mean kid who thinks he can walk up to a girl and get her in bed by just saying “hi” which in the real world does not work. I proved this by making my voice deep and talking like a chav to show a manly but aggressive boy. The deep voice also shows that oggy is the dominate one of the conversation and that he is the Alfa male when really he is just getting mugged off.
